The Almighty Dollar

I was reading Dave Barry on the Lileks demotion. The paper Lileks is working for is firing 145 people in order to cut its losses. Naturally there are complaints from the usual quarters.

The bottom line is the almighty dollar.

Yeah rob, I hate that too.

However, I'm philanthropic by nature. I want to help lighten your burden. Send me your dollars.

I know its not much. But, it is the least I can do.

H/T Hugh Hewitt who has a bunch of links and interesting comments on Lileks and the newspaper business. Probably one of the stupidest decisions ever. It is no wonder they are in financial trouble. They have a valuable property and can't make it pay.
