Fighting For Self Esteem

My regular readers will be familiar with this kind of thinking, however if you are new here this will likely blow your mind. We now have a reason for the Israeli-Arab wars. The Arabs are fighting for self esteem.

Exactly. It's because we always lose to Israel. It gnaws at the people in the Middle East that such a small country as Israel, with only about 7 million inhabitants, can defeat the Arab nation with its 350 million. That hurts our collective ego. The Palestinian problem is in the genes of every Arab. The West's problem is that it does not understand this.
So there you have it. The mere existance of Israel is a blow to their self esteem.

The funny thing is this guy thinks if the west understands that it will help his cause. Which, in a way, is a mirror image of western mirror image thinking.

A wilderness of mirrors indeed.

Update: Spengler got there first:
"The Islamic world cannot endure without confidence in victory, that to 'come to prayer' is the same thing as to 'come to success'. Humiliation - the perception that the ummah cannot reward those who submit to it - is beyond its capacity to endure." The Western god of agape and chesed does not castigate without reason; the Muslim god of sovereignty and power does not withhold reward for service performed without reason.
